Why Scuba Dive?

Scuba diving is a sporting or leisure activity that involves wearing diving gear (mask, oxygen tank, weights, scuba suit) and going underwater to explore the depths of the ocean. The sea is an exciting place for marine life. One can spot vibrant coral, beautiful fish and elaborate rock formations. While scuba diving one may also see planes, ships, boats at the bottom of the ocean - think of a small titanic.

Many people think its hard work, but I've always found it to be entirely relaxing - you and the ocean. The quiet, peacefulness and expansive ocean make for a tranquil experience.  For me, it's in the category of a leisure sport, it requires some activity but mostly it's like floating on air.

Diving Destinations

So how do you get started if you want to scuba dive? First you have to select a wonderful location that can provide a good experience. Then understand all the costs and what you could take with you for the trip - like a really good camera.

Do you need to be certified? No, you may take a short course in the morning of a dive and be on your way. One of the best things about scuba diving is that the places you select are also likely to be breathtaking on shore. Like the unfiltered picture to the right of El Nido, Palawan in the Philippines.
